El Tianguis Turístico de 2024 se quedará en Acapulco, anuncia el Gobierno de México

(CNN Español) — El Tianguis Turístico, un encuentro organizado cada año por autoridades y empresarios de México para impulsar a este sector, mantendrá su sede de 2024 en el puerto de Acapulco, Guerrero, donde el pasado 25 de octubre impactó el huracán Otis, informó este viernes el secretario de Turismo, Miguel Torruco.Este anuncio es un giro respecto de lo que la propia Secretaría y el Gobierno de Guerrero habían señalado el martes, cuando adelantaron en un comunicado que, por la situación del puerto, era necesario buscar otra sede.El funcionario detalló en su cuenta de la red social X que el evento se realizará del 8 al 12 de abril.El @TianguisTurisMX 2024 se queda en #Acapulco. SAN DIEGO (AP) — First baseman Matt Carpenter exercised a $5.5 million option for 2024 in his contract with the San Diego Padres on Friday, and reliever Seth Lugo declined a $7.5 million player option.Carpenter signed a two-year deal last offseason that guaranteed $12 million. The first baseman/designated hitter batted .176 with five homers and 31 RBIs, down from a .315 average with 15 homers and 37 RBIs in 47 games when he revived his career with the New York Yankees in 2022.A three-time All-Star with St. Louis from 2011-21, the 37-year-old Carpenter has a .260 career average with 175 homers and 644 RBIs.Lugo, a 33-year-old right-hander, had a $7.5 million salary with San Diego this year and earned $1.25 million in performance bonuses based on starts. Titans’ Treylon Burks in concussion protocol after being knocked unconscious, carted off field

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee coach Mike Vrabel said Friday that Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks briefly lost consciousness and is in the concussion protocol after being carted off the field in the final minutes of a loss to Pittsburgh.Vrabel said he had texted with Burks and hopes the second-year receiver will be back as soon as possible.“From what it looked like, I would say it’s going to be as good of a prognosis as what it could have been,” Vrabel said. “Just looking at the visual of all that. Student injured after stabbing at George Washington High School

DENVER (KDVR) — A student was injured Friday afternoon at George Washington High School where police are investigating a stabbing.The Denver Police Department posted at 3:39 p.m. that officers were investigating a stabbing in the 600 block of South Monaco Street Parkway. SkyFOX flew over the scene and saw officers responding to the school, with crime scene tape outside the school in the parking lot. DENVER (KDVR) -- Homelessness has increased by 58% in the Denver metro area over the last 7 years, according to an analysis by the Common Sense Institute.It's a top concern for Denverites and was officially declared an emergency shortly after the new mayor Mike Johnson took office. Denver mayor urged to revisit homeless plan Since then, the city has been creating micro-communities and converting hotels to create housing options as part of the mayor's plan to house 1,000 people by the end of the year.According to the Common Sense Institute of Colorado's report, there are thousands of people in need of shelter in the area.There are 9,065 people experiencing homelessness in the Metro area, and 2,763 of them are without shelter.That is a 58% increase, according to the report which says there were 5,728 experiencing homelessness in 2016.Homeless counts are growing more rapidly in the Denver metro in the most recent year.In 2022, there were 6,684 people experiencing homelessness in the ...
