Braintree man arrested in connection with robbery at Valentino store on Newbury Street

A 50-year-old man is facing criminal charges in connection with a robbery at a Valentino location on Newbury Street earlier this month. Wayne O’Keege, was arrested after receiving information from the Boston Regional Intelligence Center to be on the lookout for a vehicle of interest involved in the Dec. 11 breaking and entering at 47 Newbury St., according to Boston police.Police say he was found to be in possession of illegal narcotics when he was stopped. MSTCA Speed Classic: Norwell’s Liliana MacDonald dives right into track season

Norwell senior Liliana MacDonald has taken to her first season of indoor track as smooth as when she cut into the water as a diver for the Clippers’ swim team.MacDonald finished fourth in the 1-meter diving competition at last winter’s All-State championships and went on to place a sterling second in the triple jump at New Englands in the spring.Knowing she wanted to compete in track in college and needed the experience of an indoor campaign, MacDonald made the huge decision to forgo her final season of diving for track.The move looks like a solid one so far for the talented MacDonald. At Saturday’s Small School Speed Classic, MacDonald tore away from the 55 hurdle field on the Reggie Lewis Center infield and edged Lucy Buchmayr of Newburyport for the win in a personal best of 9.16 seconds. CHICAGO — 'Christmas in the Wards' returned for its 27th year, where gifts were distributed to families and children in need from nearly 40 of Chicago's 50 wards at McCormick Place Saturday.From bikes and scooters to TVs and computers, presents were stacked up high, with WGN as a proud partner. Businessman Larry Huggins made it a Christmas tradition that started in Englewood in 1996."I came up in a single parent family and my mother always made sure to go to the department store to see Santa Claus and the things we wanted were always under that Christmas tree," Huggins said.
