HINGHAM — It was pretty clear before the fact just who would finish in the top three of the girls’ 200-meter dash in Friday’s first day of competition in the Div. 4 Championships at Notre Dame.Pembroke’s Sarah Claflin, Grace Hanafin of Burlington and Tewksbury’s Jayani Santos all cruised to easy wins in their respective heats and each girl dipped under 26 seconds, seemingly setting up a close battle in the final.It was Claflin, though, who saw to it wouldn’t be as close as advertised. The defending champion burst out of the blocks and put plenty of distance between herself and runner-up Hanafin for the win in a scintillating 24.58. SAN DIEGO -- A growing memorial outside of San Diego Central Library shows how much Trey Walker meant to people who knew him. The 20-year-old was shot and killed near the East Village building shortly after noon on Tuesday, according to police.Shelley Jameson remembers her son as an amazing friend and father. Coroner: Missing Navy sailor died by drowning, manner undetermined

WAUKEGAN, Ill. — A missing Navy sailor who was found last month in Lake Michigan in Waukegan died by drowning, the coroner's office said, but the manner of his death is still undetermined.Lake County Chief Deputy Coroner Steve Newton said Seamus Gray died by drowning and toxicology testing found he had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.14. Dell Seton opens new unit to care for 'neurocritical' patients

Construction crews will be rebuilding the ramps and Minnesota 36 and Fairview Avenue in Roseville beginning Thursday, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.Crews will rebuild and realign the ramps and loops at Minnesota 36 and Fairview Avenue near the mall in Roseville in summer 2023. LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Supporters are renewing their push to properly bury human remains that likely belong to Revolutionary War soldiers. The remains were found in Lake George in 2019 after a routine construction dig. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! Experts believe they come from a former burial ground for soldiers, which was housed in a nearby hospital. Advocates are now asking the U.S. Army for funding to give them a proper burial at Lake George Battlefield and to build a memorial honoring their service.
