Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are well aware they are on the outside looking in when it comes to a playoff spot.With three games remaining, Allen knows the only thing the Bills can do is handle their own business. That starts when they visit the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday night.“We’ve got to control what we can control,” Allen said. “It’s essentially win or go home. So again, we got to be prepared for every punch that the Chargers can throw at us and be able to respond and adjust accordingly in game.”Buffalo has overcome a midseason swoon, criticism of coach Sean McDermott and a rash of defensive injuries to win three of four. Canada announces temporary visas for people in Gaza with Canadian relatives

OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) — People in the Gaza Strip who have Canadian relatives may apply for temporary visas to Canada, the country’s immigration minister said Thursday. However, the federal government cannot guarantee safe passage out of the besieged Palestinian territory.Immigration Minister Marc Miller expects the program to be up and running by Jan. 9. Until now, the government has focused on getting 660 Canadians, permanent residents and their spouses and children out of Gaza.Miller said the government will start accepting applications for people with extended family connections to Canada, including parents, grandparents, siblings and grandchildren.He said people will be offered three-year visas if they meet eligibility and admissibility criteria.Miller said he’s not sure how many people will be able to come to Canada under the program, but he expects the number will be in the hundreds.Miller said it’s been difficult to get Canadians out of Gaza. “We have limited abili...

(AP) — The Buffalo Bills placed defensive tackle Jordan Phillips on injured reserve on Thursday after the backup had surgery for a wrist injury last weekend.Phillips is expected to miss about three weeks, and now will be required to miss four games. He won’t be available to play unless Buffalo reaches the divisional round of the playoffs. Phillips’ spot on the roster is likely to be filled by defensive tackle DaQuan Jones, who has resumed practicing and eligible to be activated off injured reserve after missing nine games with a torn pectoral muscle. Fire at Colfax and Peoria construction site extinguished after 5 days

DENVER (KDVR) — A fire that started Saturday in a multifamily structure construction site near East Colfax and Peoria has been fully extinguished, Aurora Fire Rescue said Thursday, but there's no indication of when the intersection may reopen.At one point, there were 42 firefighting units at the blaze.
